Companhia do Vale do Araguaia

Companhia do Vale do Araguaia is an established forestry company that develops and plants to haverst teak (Tectona grandis) plantations in the mid-west region of Brazil, to aim the production of 100 thousand m³ per year of sawnwood. The Company is in the process of developing fully-integrated forestry operations, from seed production to teak planting and lumber operations, with high environmental standarts to sell lumber on the domestic and foreing markets.

The Company has approximately 16,000 hectares of land for teak plantations. While developing and maintaining its plantations, the Company carries out land lease activities in areas where no teak plantation exist. The Management also intends to negotiate Emission Reduction Certificates (ERCs) resulting from its forestry activity. The Company´s projects are developed based on the concept of environmental sustainability and aim at certified lumber production.
